1.5 yr old spoiled Boxer gives two paws up! Because my dog is young, he really likes to chew and he has a ton of energy. I brought these Yak chews with the thought that he could chew on these and it would entertain him. I do want to note that my boxer did not take to them right away, these are not dog treats but chews. However I would say give your dog some time to get use to them and they will start to love them like my dog does.Pros1. Smell: No gross smells (other dog chews I purchased are so gross smelling but these do not smell).2. Long Lasting: SERIOUSLY long lasting, these chews are pretty solid, hard chews and last a long time.3. Quality: I know these are better quality chews. My brother has a 7yr old boxer and I was telling him about how my boxer loves these chews. My brother was like oh my dog does NOT like yak chews. Well I beg to differ because when she comes over she runs for this yak chew and claims it as hers! haha My brother consented and admitted these must be way better quality yaks then he had purchased.Cons1. Weight: I purchased the 1 lbs and they were not a 1 lbs but almost a 1 lbs. (don't worry they are not too far off)2. Price: Even though these lasted a long time I still would say that they are kinda expensive.3. Hard: Even though this does make the chews long lasting....the chews are hard so IF your dog has loose or weak teeth I would be wary about purchasing.

My dog loves these and they actually last long enough and are simulating enough where she doesn't eat one up all in one go. Most "long lasting" chews easily are gone in under 20 minutes with her usually. These keep her happy during long nights of games with friends. They are so expensive & I saw cheese and thought when they get wet with drool they will make an icky mess, so I was hesitant to try. But they are worth the money and really great, not slimy or wet or smelly! My dog has a sensitive belly and many treats make her gassy, but not these! Very pleased with our purchase, reordered a big bag and will be back for more!

I like it very much and I think it is a lot better then raw hide. It may be good for other dogs but my dog for some reason didn't care it and lost interest for it very quickly. I put it away and will introduce it again to him after a while to see if he will show a interest in it. It looks like a very good product.Update from 2 to 5 stars. I reintroduced the Himalayan Yak Dog Chew to Tuffy after a couple months. He started working on it a little at a time. Than I notice it wasn't laying around the house only to find it in his little house that we keep in the living room. In this house he only keeps his top prized toys. Tuffy enjoys this chew very much now. I like the fact that it will NOT become gummy and nasty with things sticking to it. I read that rawhide chews are not good for dogs. That they get consumed very quickly not lasting long. I will agree at first I thought that this chew was expensive but after seeing how much Tuffy likes it and how little it wears down it's a great value .NOTE: Tuffy is a Poodle weighing 14 bs. I cut this chew in half , this works very well for his size.

I have a corgi/shihtzu/chihuahua mix. He's about 13lbs and has very powerful jaws. This chew has so far lasted him the longest of all the chews I got off of amazon, but I get the feeling he doesn't really like it as much as another brand. For one, the smallest piece we got is about 8in long (very long for his still somewhat short legs to hold). He does this weird thing where he is hesitant to chew it at first every time we give it to him, but once he gets into chewing, he won't stop. He won't chew it on his own like the other chews either. I don't know if this is because the chew is actually too big for him or not, but it's been about 6 days since I gave him that smallest piece and he's only about 2/3 done.Another thing I did notice is that this chew seems to be much harder (denser?) than the other brands I got. My dog has to spend a lot more time chewing, which is actually a good thing. But again, it takes me having to tease/coax him a little to get him to actually take the chew. I tried looking for a smaller size of this brand, but have not been able to. Maybe someone can make a suggestion?I'll continue experimenting for now, but I am satisfied that this is lasting him for such a long time. He gets destructive if he doesn't have something to keep him busy. I do highly recommend this for a larger dog though.

I have been buying these chews from this vendor for about a year. I usually buy the one pound bag and until recently that bag has enclosed three nice sized thick chews. The last three packages I have purchased have been far less than pleasing. The first time I received a "bad" bag, I assumed it was a fluke. The chews were all substantially smaller than the prior bags and it appeared clear that the bag contained less than a pound. My next bag was the same. I'm attaching photos that show one chew from an older bag compared with the three chews in the one pound bag I received that day.Today I received another order. I had sent them to work this time, and we have a postage scale. When I opened the box it was clear this was going to be another issue. I weighed the bag and it was 13.1 ounces, including the bag and the labels. Basically I have been getting ripped off by about 3.5 ounces each time (after subtracting off the weight of the bag and labels).Also, in the new bag, one of the sticks is extremely small - only approximately 1/3rd of an inch thick and less than five and a half inches long. The whole point of these treats was that they were large and thick enough to keep my dog chewing for a long time. That chew would be gone in 2 seconds.

We order yak bones and give to our two schnauzers as a rare treat. They toss in the air, slide them across the flooring, play chase with them and chewing them.They know the bag, the excitement from them is fun to watch. Number one, the yak bones gets used and there is no waste. Appreciate microwaving to puff and no evidence (Crumbs) left behind.

Neighbor told me her breeder said the Himalayan yak milk should be the only chew she gives her puppy. So I tried it and my puppies love it. It keeps them occupied in the evening while we're watching TV.

My dog, Kricket, said they are DELICIOUS

Have purchased several times. Long lasting. When they get small ( choking hazard) you can put them in microwave for 2-3 minutes and they puff up and are completely edible (crunchy).

Okay, there was a tiny 5th piece that still didn't get the total weight including package wrapper and shipping envelope up to 2 lbs.The pieces were so heavy, nearly 8 oz each, that they burst thru to package wrapper.Update:I edited to upgrade to 4 stars because my dog doesn't care the size, he lugs one around with him and is steadily gnawing on it.It would be 5 stars but the dog dropped it on my foot and because it was so heavy it really hurt.If you like absurdly large chews, these are for you. If you prefer the normal sized long chews these aren't those.

I purchased this product for my two German Shepherd dogs. They love chewing on these. They like to lie down, hold them in their front paws and chew away,. I ordered the 10 lb. Bag. But, it had nearly 2 pounds of pieces that were 2-3 inches long. They should be 6 inches long. Difficult for the dog to grasp, easier to swallow larger chunks. I'll probably order more but possibly from another seller.

My wonderful granddog is a voracious chewer and here family are vegetarians so this is the perfect treat!

My dog really likes this Yak chew, she can’t stop chewing on it. I have to take it away from her as she would chew it all day. The only thing I don’t like is that after she has chewed it she leaves little pieces of Yak all over and they really hurt your feet to stand on them. I will start to give her it outside which will be better.Diane.

My Australian shepherd puppy (currently 10 months) loves this Himalayan Yak Dog Chew. 10 lb package is cheaper compared to other small-size orders. The actual weight is 5kg, heavier than the marked 10lb. The large chunk may be too big for my dog, but I will figure it out.

I am happy with what I received, the description could be better or have the picture match the shipped product. but overall good product.

I got the 3lb bag and I’ll say it’s quite worth it but I wish they were all the big sizes. The reviews only talked about the bigger sizes and the smaller sticks are kind of disappointing. This doesn’t have any smell unlike the other ones I’ve tried to buy. This one isn’t brittle too. This lasts quite long for our medium dogs.

I was worried when I saw the other reviews about mould on these, but I figured I'd give them a try because my boston puppy goes through these so fast (he drops them on the floor, they break and then are too small to safely chew) and at $15 ea in the pet store...that adds up.The main difference I see between these and the more expensive ones is the packaging. The package for these is just a sealed plastic bag with a silica packet and is not airtight. I'm not surprised some people have found mould and bugs. That said, the ones I received were ok in this respect, however I think they are a bit dirty. I imagine they are not stored or shipped on the same way we'd expect for human food (and want for our dogs).Bottom line: a lot of these chews are totally fine, but some are not. Heed the caution of other reviewers and inspect each one carefully before giving to your furbaby. If you're not sure, send it back.
